WHAT'S NOT

 

§          Cell phones ringing during lectures

§          Not enough healthy food choices in Jorgenson Hall Cafeteria

§          Campus library holdings: not enough material to go around; many reference books out of date

§          $60 million in deferred maintenance means a worn and-torn campus: broken escalators, broken tires in bathrooms,
        frozen clocks

§          Commuter-school syndrome: after-class campus events difficult organize, poorly attended

§          Downtown traffic and limited parking spaces on campus make driving to school a hassle

§          Classroom shortages:  nine theatres at nearby Carlton Cinemas have been reserved for use as lecture halls this fall,

§          Counselling Centre waiting lists - students must wait as much as two weeks to get help with personal problems
        (although there is an on-call hour weekdays at 3 pm)

§          Class scheduling: some begin as early as 8 a.m. - especially painful to commuter students

§          Course evaluations: the results are not published, and students have no idea whether their feedback is considered

OFF CAMPUS: Salad King, a Thai restaurant: the Wolf & Firkin, for drinks; Mick E, Flynn's; Hoops Sports Bar& Grill; the Imperial Pub Tavern; the Phoenix and Fuel Station nightclubs, for dancing: Reilly's pub. for live music; the Eaton Centre, for shopping or people-watching
